Welcome Home & Happy Birthday Rob!

It’s been a big week as Kathy has returned at last from her month long journey around the country. While her blogging skills proved to be lacking, she did take some wonderful photos on her trip and I hope to have some posted soon. She had an amazing trip, but is, I think happy to be back in Key West. I know that I am thrilled she is back.

I had a few leftover pix from my July 4th trip to North Carolina that I neglected to post as well. My return trip included a stop at the Jacksonville Zoo which I visited to break up the journey and take a brief respite from the 17 hours of straight driving. So here are some pix from the Zoo.

Now that we are both back, we are getting back into the swing of things here. We started things off by attending a surprise birthday party for our good friend Rob at Salute restaurant. It was a great gathering of friends who turned out to honor one of the nicest and funniest friend you could have. Rob is also a talented musician, a member of the ever popular group, The Prime Movers. Rob and his band even played at our wedding.

The party was tons of fun and it was nice to get out and see people, it seems like it has been awhile for us. The summer season is picking up though as events like Hemingway Days, Mel Fisher Days and the like begin in earnest this week. Perhaps we will get out and actually see some of them. In the mean time, I will endeavor to get the photos from Kathy’s trip up soon.
