Cleveland…..and home



The final stop on my trip back to Indianapolis was in Cleveland. I had never visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is located in downtown Cleveland on the banks of Lake Erie. It was a little bit out of the way, but having the time and desire to visit the museum made it an easy decision.





Cleveland is a fairly nice looking place, I think that I could easily have spent more time exploring the place, but that will have to wait for another visit. The first thing you notice when you arrive at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the spectacular building. Designed by famed architect I.M. Pei, the building is amazing, far better than any of the exhibits it contains.



Like many museums, cameras are not allowed in, so all my photos are of the exterior. The exhibits inside are nice, but perhaps my expectations were too high. They have a ton of great memorabilia, tons of guitars, original hand written lyrics, costumes and historic rock n roll stuff.



They had a couple of special exhibits, one a Woodstock anniversary display and the other a retrospective of the life of Bruce Springsteen which were both excellent. They had a decent amount of Beatles stuff, including the original Sgt. Pepper jackets. They also had cool stuff from Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison (including his Cub Scout uniform).

After a few hours in Cleveland, it was back on the road and back to Indianapolis where I caught an early morning flight home the next morning. Since arriving home, things have been fairly mellow as we are trying to get back into the groove and get ready for the start of the busy season which is coming up fast.







We did make it to Ft. Zachary Taylor beach for a dual birthday party for a pair of Kathy’s students. Teagan was turning 4 and Ryan 3 and what is better that a dual party on the beach. The weather was great, the food and friends, great and the party was fun and relaxing. Happy Birthday to Teagan & Ryan!







Finally, Hometown Pac hosted another candidate forum, this time at the VFW hall in Bahama Village for the District 6 commission candidates and the mayoral candidates. This forum was by far the testiest and heated of those held to date as the candidates took the gloves off and went at it tooth and nail.

The lack of civility displayed by some of the candidates (and some of the crowd) was troubling as some of the attacks were more personal than issue related.
